If it’s a noise nuisance, Braintree asks you to try to resolve it informally first, then report it to the Environmental Health Team if that doesn’t work. You can report it through the noise nuisance page, and if the noise is happening only on Friday or Saturday evenings from 8:00pm to 1:00am the following morning, you can call the out-of-hours noise service.
| What you need | Details |
|---|---|
| Before reporting | Try speaking to the person responsible for the noise first |
| Information to give | Your name, address and contact details; a description of the noise and where it comes from |
| Anonymous reports | Braintree does not investigate anonymous complaints |
| What to keep | A diary of when the nuisance happens |
| Next step | The council may install recording equipment once there’s enough diary evidence |
| Out-of-hours service | Friday and Saturday evenings from 8:00pm to 1:00am the following morning |
For barking dogs, Braintree also has a dedicated online form.
