To update your voter registration details, Durham says you should use the online Register to vote service and submit your new information there. If you’ve changed your name, address, or nationality, you need to register again with those updated details.
| What you need to do | How to do it |
|---|---|
| Update name, address, or nationality | Register to vote and enter your new details |
| Opt on or off the open electoral register | Use the same Register to vote service |
| Need paper help or have questions | Contact Electoral Services |
| If you’ve recently moved and aren’t sure what to do | Register with your new details online |
You’ll need your National Insurance number when you register, and Durham says you should look out for confirmation that you’re registered. If you’re already on the register but your details have changed, this is the quickest way to make sure they’re updated.
