In East Lothian, you do not need to put out all recycling bins every recycling day. The council collects different categories of recyclables on specific days. Here's a quick overview of the types of recyclables and their designated containers:
| Material Type | Container |
|---|---|
| Plastics, metals, and cartons | White weighted bag |
| Glass bottles and jars | Green or black box |
| Paper and card | Blue box or bag |
| Cardboard | Blue box or bag (flattened) |
| Food waste | Silver caddy |
| Household batteries | Empty food caddy liner |
Make sure to check your collection days for each type, and remember to have your containers out by 7:00 am. For specific dates or additional details, you can visit the East Lothian waste and recycling page.
