To get a brown bin permit for the garden waste collection in East Lothian, it's crucial to meet the registration deadlines. The most recent sign-up window closed on 4 July, meaning that if you missed that, you won't be able to receive any collections until the next registration period.
Here's a quick overview of relevant dates for signing up:
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Previous sign-up deadline (for 2025/26) | 4 July 2025 |
| Next sign-up opening date | 11 May 2026 |
| Next sign-up deadline | 6 July 2026 |
You will need to register again for the 2026/2027 service and permits will cost £40. If you do not have a brown bin, you can register for a permit and then contact waste services to have a bin delivered.
