You can register to vote online through Guildford’s registration service, and it only takes about five minutes. If you don’t have a National Insurance number, you can still apply online and the council will write to confirm when you’ll be added to the register.

Guildford says once you’ve registered, you don’t need to do it again unless you move house or change your name. If you’re a student, service voter, overseas voter, or don’t have a fixed address, there are special registration arrangements as well.
