Hillingdon asks you to complete a nuisance diary first, then submit a noise report online with that diary uploaded. For some noise types, you should also try speaking to the person responsible before reporting it.
| Step | What Hillingdon wants you to do | Where to do it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Download the nuisance diary sheet and fill it in for at least 2 weeks | Loud neighbours |
| 2 | If needed, speak to the neighbour or person responsible first | Loud neighbours |
| 3 | Report the noise using the online form and upload your completed diary sheet | Loud neighbours |
Hillingdon says this applies to things like barking dogs, car and house alarms, loud music or TV, neighbours’ vehicles, and DIY noise. It can investigate noise that is persistent or regular, but not short periods of noise or ordinary domestic sounds like voices, washing machines, doors closing, or toilets flushing.
