You’re eligible for free school meals in Hull if your child attends a Hull school or sixth form full time and you receive one of the qualifying benefits. Hull also allows some over-16s to claim if they personally receive one of those benefits.

If your child goes to an East Riding school, Hull says to apply to East Riding of Yorkshire Council instead. You can apply online, and Hull says you should get a decision by letter within 7 days.
