It depends what you’re visiting for, but in several Hull services an appointment is needed or recommended. For some things, like registering a birth or using the bus pass service, Hull says you should book first.

For the birth registration and bus pass services, Hull is clear that booking ahead is the safer option. For repairs, the contractor will usually arrange an appointment with you unless it’s an emergency.
