You can apply for a school place online, by phone, or by requesting a paper form from Lincolnshire. If you’re applying for a place in advance, or for an in-year move, the process depends on the year group and timing.
| Application type | How to apply | Key points | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| School place in general | Online, by phone, or paper form | Apply through your home local authority. You can list up to three preferred schools, and Lincolnshire strongly recommends doing that. Use only one method. | apply online |
| In-year move school place | Online, by phone, or paper form | Use this if you’re moving house or want to change schools for another reason after the normal intake has happened. | apply to move school |
| Primary or infant school place | Online, by phone, or paper form | Lincolnshire says you should apply if your child is starting primary/infant school or moving into Year 3 in the usual transfer year. | apply for a school place |
| Special school place | Through the usual route unless your child has an EHC plan | If your child has an EHC plan, contact the SEND caseworker. If not, apply through the usual school place process. | apply for a school place |
