You can report an ongoing noise problem online after first trying to resolve it informally if you’re comfortable doing so. Newham asks you to use the online form for persistent noise issues, and it may then ask for extra details or diary sheets before assessing the complaint.
| What Newham says to report | How to do it |
|---|---|
| Ongoing noise problems such as loud music, noisy neighbours, alarms, animal noise, building noise outside permitted hours, and noise from ventilation or similar equipment | Report an ongoing noise problem |
| Industrial, business, railway, airport or construction noise | Report noise problems online |
Before you report it, Newham suggests speaking to the person or company causing the noise, or trying mediation or an informal letter first. If you do report it, they may ask for the days, times, nature and impact of the noise, and an officer may contact you during office hours, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm.
