Oxford says the documents you need depend on what you’re applying for. For a housing or homelessness appointment, the council may ask for ID, income evidence, family details, tenancy papers, and sometimes home sale documents.
| Situation | Documents Oxford may ask for |
|---|---|
| Proof of identity | Long birth certificate, passport, document confirming your National Insurance number, photo driving licence, Biometric residence card, proof of settled status |
| Income | Recent statements for all bank/building society accounts, payslips for the last five weeks or two months, proof of all benefits you receive |
| Child or pregnancy details | Full birth certificate for any child included in the application, divorce or separation papers about child arrangements, maternity certificate or hospital notes showing estimated due date, proof of Child Benefit |
| Renting a home | Tenancy agreement, any later contract, rent book or landlord letter if you do not have a written tenancy agreement, notice from your landlord to vacate |
| Selling your home | Confirmation from your solicitor showing the value of the property |
If you meant a different kind of application, Oxford also asks for different supporting documents for selective licensing and some taxi/licensing processes.
