When you apply for council housing in Southend, you’ll need to send a few basic proofs with your form. The council also says it may ask for extra evidence depending on your housing need.
| What to send | Examples given |
|---|---|
| Proof of identity | Birth certificate, passport, or driving licence |
| Proof of where you live | Tenancy agreement or letter from head of household |
| Rent statement | Up-to-date rent payment statement from your landlord, if you are currently renting |
| Proof of income | Bank statements or benefits letters |
| Evidence of housing need | Anything supporting why you need to move |
| Medical evidence, if relevant | Prescription or a letter from your GP/consultant |
Southend asks you to email these to CBL@southend.gov.uk with your application. If your case needs more detail, the council may later request additional information before deciding whether you can join the Housing Register.
