The quickest way to work out which council area you should apply to is to use the GOV.UK postcode finder and check your local council. Warwickshire also says each district and borough council has its own housing allocation policy, so you need to apply to the local authority for the area where you plan to live or are connected to.
| What to do | Where to check |
|---|---|
| Find your local council | GOV.UK - Find your local council |
| Check the housing policy for the council area | The relevant district or borough council website |
Warwickshire’s housing information also notes that local connection can include living, working, or having close family in the area. If you’re applying for housing or homelessness help, that’s the main thing to check before you submit anything.
