Welwyn Hatfield uses its permit portal for parking permit applications. For most resident-style permits, you log in, choose Apply for a permit, pick the right permit category, upload the required documents, and then submit and pay if needed.
| Permit type | How to apply | What you’ll need |
|---|---|---|
| Resident parking permit | Log in to the permit portal, select Apply for a permit, choose I am (or applying on behalf of) a Resident, then select the street, enter the address, choose the permit category, upload documents, choose Pay now, and complete payment | Proof of residence, proof of vehicle |
| Visitor parking permit / vouchers | Apply via the permit portal, choose the resident address, then select Visitor Vouchers and upload proof of residency if needed | Proof of residence, and proof of pension if claiming the pension discount |
| Personal Carer Permit | Log in to the permit portal, select Apply for a permit, choose I am (or applying on behalf of) a Resident, then select Personal carer permit and upload the required documents | Proof of residence, proof of disabled badge, and proof the vehicle is not insured or registered at the permit address |
| Car park season ticket | Use the car park season ticket page to open the permit portal, create an account, choose Apply for a permit, select Car Park Season Ticket - Max 1 Per Account, then follow the prompts to pay and register the vehicle | Proof of vehicle if prompted during registration |
A few things to keep in mind: Welwyn Hatfield says visitor applications can take up to the end of the next working day to review, and annual resident-style permits require the vehicle to be insured or registered at the permit address. You can start the process from the council’s parking permits page: apply for a permit.
