You can verify if a waste carrier is licensed in West Berkshire easily online. Residents are advised to check that anyone collecting waste holds a valid waste carrier licence by consulting the public register maintained by the Environment Agency.
Here's a quick summary of how to check:
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Go to the Environment Agency's public register |
| 2 | Look up the waste carrier's details |
| 3 | Confirm their licensing status |
| 4 | Keep a record of the information for your records |
If someone taking your waste does not have a valid licence, you could be fined £600 if the waste is found fly-tipped. So, it’s best to check before handing over your waste! For more details on this process, visit the Waste Carrier Licence Checking page.
