Birmingham says to put your grey-lid rubbish bin out on your normal collection day, and your blue-lid recycling bin out only when recycling collections are running. During the current industrial action, recycling collections are suspended every day, so don’t put the blue-lid bin out for collection.

If your property isn’t suitable for wheelie bins, Birmingham says you should put bin bags out for collection instead, and they’ll collect up to 3 bags at each collection.
