Broxbourne’s reporting forms ask for the issue itself, clear details, and any evidence that helps explain what’s happening. For some reports, you’ll also need specific location, business, or technical information.
| Report type | Details to include |
|---|---|
| General issue report | The issue you want to report, with clear details |
| Environmental nuisance/issue | The type of problem, such as pests, noise, bonfires and chimney smoke, odour, light, dust, drainage, air and water quality, land contamination, infectious diseases, or construction and demolition. You can also report environmental issues relating to housing, food, and licensing. |
| Tree-related report | A full and clear specification of the work you want to carry out. For example, say “crown thinning” with a percentage, “crown lifting” with a height in metres, or “crown reduction” with the size of the tree after pruning. If relevant, include evidence of pests, diseases, fungi, or subsidence. |
| Health and safety issue | Business name and address |
| Claim against the Council after an accident | Any information that helps the Council investigate, such as witness details or CCTV, if available |
If your report involves trees or subsidence, Broxbourne says the evidence needs to be specific rather than vague. For environmental problems, it helps to be as precise as possible about the nuisance and where it’s happening.
