Cherwell asks you to report a noise nuisance through its noise nuisance reporting page, and you’ll need to give full details so the complaint can be investigated. If you want diary sheets, you can request them by email.
| What Cherwell says you need to provide | Details |
|---|---|
| Your details | Name, address and contact details |
| Noise details | Exact source, name of occupier or person responsible if known, and the nature/history of the problem including how it affects you |
| What it must not be about | Aircraft, railway, or moving vehicle noise, including car stereos and revving engines |
| Contact with the person making the noise | You must be happy for the council to contact them |
| Reporting route | Report noise nuisance |
| Diary sheets | Request by emailing environmentalprotectioncdc@cherwell-dc.gov.uk |
Cherwell also notes the reporting form will close after ten minutes, so it’s worth having your details ready before you start. For complaints about shouting or arguing in the street or fireworks, Cherwell says you need to contact Thames Valley Police instead.
