How Do I Report a Pothole?

East Lothian says you can report potholes and other road defects quickly and easily online. The council’s roads team receives the report directly, checks the location, and then sets the repair timescale based on priority.

Once reported, an officer will attend to verify the issue and, if needed, carry out a risk assessment. Repairs are then prioritised and carried out within 24 hours, five working days, 60 working days, or as part of programmed works depending on the rating.
