Hull says you normally don’t need to send many documents with a school place application, but there are a few situations where proof is required. The main thing they may ask for is proof of address, and some schools also need a supplementary information form.
| What Hull may ask for | When it’s needed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Proof of residence / proof of address | If Hull needs to check where the child lives | This can include a tenancy agreement, proof of sale and completion, or proof of council tax payment. |
| Evidence of a house move | If you move address after applying | Examples include an exit utility bill for the previous property, a completion of sale document, a notice to leave from your landlord, a council tax bill for the new property, a tenancy agreement for the new property, or evidence of completion of a house purchase. |
| Supplementary Information Form (SIF) | If you apply for certain schools | Hull says you need to complete and submit the school’s SIF with your application for schools such as Alderman Cogan’s, St Charles, Endsleigh Holy Child, St Anthony’s, St Mary Queen of Martyrs, St Richards, St Thomas More, and St Vincent’s. |
| Common Application Form (CAF) | If you need to apply that way instead of the online portal | Hull says you can download the form or request one from the School Admissions Team. |
Hull also says you must use the address where the child lives for most of the school week, and it may check addresses against other records. If you’re applying online, you can use the My School Portal to submit the application.
