Preston says you need to provide evidence of your rent, your identity, your National Insurance number, and your income/capital details to support a Housing Benefit claim. If you have a partner, you’ll need evidence for them too.

If you complete the online claim, Preston will give you a list of any extra evidence they need before they can process it. If you want to send documents, Preston also accepts uploads through the E-Claim upload form, email to benefits@preston.gov.uk, post to Benefits Department, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston PR1 2RL, or use the My Scan App.
