Ribble Valley collects different bins on a weekly, alternate-weekly, or fortnightly pattern depending on the waste type. The main set-up is burgundy for general waste, blue for mixed recycling, green for garden waste, and a white sack for paper and cardboard.
| Container | What goes out | Collection pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Burgundy bin | General / non-recyclable waste | Weekly |
| Blue bin | Mixed glass, cans and plastic bottles | Alternate weekly |
| Green bin | Garden waste | Weekly or alternate arrangement as provided |
| White reusable sack | Mixed waste paper and cardboard | Fortnightly |
A few practical points: Ribble Valley asks you to put recyclables loose in the blue bin, with no bin bags, and to rinse them first. Residents should also not put extra bags of waste or recycling at the kerbside; if you have more than will fit with the lid closed, take it to Longridge Recycling Centre or Clitheroe Recycling Centre.
