Yes — if you’re a student and split your time between two addresses, Rotherham says you can register at both as long as they’re in different local authority areas. If you don’t have a fixed address, you can still register, but not online.
| Situation | Can you register? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Student with a home address and a term-time address | Yes | You can register at both addresses if they are not in the same local authority area. |
| Voting at local elections | Yes, at both addresses | You can vote in both places. |
| Voting at national elections | Yes, but only in one place | You must choose one place; voting in more than one place is a criminal offence. |
| No fixed address | Yes | Rotherham can still register you, but online registration isn’t available. |
If you don’t have a fixed address, contact Electoral Services by email at electoral.services@rotherham.gov.uk or by phone on 01709 823590. If you want to register normally, you can use the Register to vote on the GOV.UK website.
