Stoke-on-Trent’s grey bin is for general household waste, and you can also put a maximum of two black bags of additional domestic waste next to it on collection day. Garden waste should not go in the grey bin.

A few things definitely shouldn’t go in there: garden waste, mattresses, fridges, tyres, furniture, DIY waste, and other bulky items. If you’re unsure about a specific item, Stoke’s guidance says to check what items can go in which bin.
