You can report a pothole online through Swindon’s pothole reporting page. Once you submit it, the highways team investigates the report and sends you an acknowledgement email with a tracking code.
| What happens | Details |
|---|---|
| How to report | report a pothole online |
| What you’ll receive | An automated acknowledgement email with a unique tracking code, then another email with the outcome of the investigation |
| If it’s not classed as a pothole | You’ll be told it wasn’t classed as a pothole or wasn’t an immediate priority, and it will be monitored and/or repaired as part of routine maintenance |
| When it may count as a safety defect | At least 30mm deep |
| Urgent repairs | Potholes more than 40mm deep are repaired within the next working day; very high-risk potholes are repaired within 24 hours |
If you’re reporting damage to a pavement, footpath, cycle path, or a road in poor condition that isn’t pothole-related, Swindon says to use the map and online form on the same roads repair page.
