Tonbridge and Malling uses four main containers for most homes: a black bin for general rubbish, a green lidded bin for mixed recycling, a green box for paper and cardboard, and an orange lidded bin for food waste. You should put bins out by 7am on collection day, and food waste is collected weekly.
| Container | What goes in it | When to put it out |
|---|---|---|
| Black bin | Non-recyclable household waste | By 7am on collection day |
| Green lidded bin | Plastics, glass and cans / mixed recycling | By 7am on collection day |
| Green box | Paper and cardboard | By 7am on collection day |
| Orange lidded bin | Food waste | Put out alongside your black or green recycling bin; collected weekly |
A couple of extra points: bins must be placed on the property boundary nearest to where the collection vehicle passes, and returned within the property boundary after collection. If you need a new bin or a replacement, you can request new bins and repairs.
