Torridge collects bulky household items that are too large for the normal refuse bag service. The council also has a clear list of items it can collect and items it cannot.

Torridge also says any item that is too large to fit into a refuse bag counts as bulky waste. Items like microwaves are classed as bulky items too if they can’t go in the recycling scheme.
For safety and size reasons, Torridge won’t collect some large items such as American style fridge freezers, AGA/range cookers, boilers, shower screens, kitchen worktops or cupboards, oil tanks, gas cylinders, glass tables, glazed doors, windows, baths, building rubble, hazardous waste, garages/sheds/greenhouses, car parts, tyres, soil/stone, garden waste, and stairlifts.
