If it’s a general noise complaint, High Peak asks you to report it to Environmental Health, and if it’s about a council tenant you should use the Noise App 2.0. For domestic noise, you can also report via Report a domestic nuisance complaint.
| Situation | What High Peak says to do | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic noise nuisance | Report it to Environmental Health; try speaking to the person responsible first | Report a domestic nuisance complaint |
| Noise from a council tenant | Use the Noise App 2.0 and select High Peak Borough Council as the service provider | Report a council tenant noise complaint |
| Commercial/business noise | Report it as a commercial noise complaint | Making a noise complaint |
| Noise as part of antisocial behaviour | Use the antisocial behaviour reporting route | Report antisocial behaviour |
High Peak won’t investigate anonymous complaints, and if it’s taken forward they may ask you to keep log sheets, allow access to monitor the noise, or provide a witness statement. If the noise is from a burglar alarm, High Peak says to call 0345 129 7777 straight away.
