Perth and Kinross provides free school transport only in some cases. If your child attends their catchment school and lives more than the eligible distance away, you should not have to pay; if they go to a different school by request, you’ll need to arrange and pay for transport yourself.

Transport is provided from a suitable point on the public highway, which can be up to 2 miles from home for primary pupils or 3 miles for secondary pupils. If you’re outside the free transport rules, a concessionary place may be possible if there’s a spare seat, but that isn’t a free entitlement and can be withdrawn at short notice.
