If you can’t use the online pothole form, Scottish Borders says to contact its Customer Advice and Support Service for help. For an immediate or critical hazard, don’t report it online — call the appropriate number from the Contact Us page during opening times or use the emergency out-of-hours number.
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Need help using the form | Contact Customer Advice and Support Service |
| Can’t report through the pothole form or another defect form | Use the other surface issues form |
| Immediate and critical danger | Check opening times and call the appropriate number from the Contact Us page |
| Pothole on a trunk road | Report it to BEAR Scotland |
If the road defect is on a public road in the Scottish Borders and isn’t urgent, the other surface issues form is the fallback option.
