Bolton’s current council tax support rules mean working-age households usually pay 12.5% of their council tax bill, while pension-age households are not affected by those support changes. For the council tax itself, the latest published budget information says Bolton is using a 4.99% council tax rise for 2025/26, plus separate mayoral precepts.
